BIRD SCALE
ACCURATE, REAL-TIME BIRD WEIGHT MANAGEMENT
Our Bird Scale provides 97% precision in measuring flock average weight and CV over the broiler life cycle. It automatically records and optimizes average weights, daily gains, and standard deviation for effective yield tracking. As part of Intelia’s smart sensor suite, it offers precise daily weight measurements, enhancing farm efficiency and delivering key operational insights.
Accurate Scale Data Enables Better Growth and Uniformity Decisions
Measuring the average body weight and uniformity is crucial for poultry flock management. Intelia’s bird scale offers accurate real-time weighing to detect deviations from standard growth curves. By using bird scales, you can gain valuable insights into your flock’s growth patterns and make informed decisions.

Predicting Flock Outcome through Daily Weights and Rolling Average
The Intelia scale’s superior sampling capabilities allow for precise daily weight measurements and accurate predictions of a flock’s evolution over the next 14 days. Continuously updated based on house conditions and bird health, the rolling predicted average weight empowers producers to make informed decisions, such as adjusting lighting or feeding schedules to optimize growth and health outcomes.
Benefits
Precise sensors are the building blocks of data collection. Accurate data is necessary for efficient flock management and prediction.

Efficiency & Automation
The poultry scales are designed for 24/7 automated weighing, saving time and effort compared to manual methods.

Uniformity Reading
Facilitates uniformity assessments by providing extensive and accurate sampling of bird weights within a flock, enabling better decisions.

Consistency Across Flocks
Ensure consistent weighing processes across different poultry flocks, essential for accurate comparisons and assessments over time.

Data Accuracy
Provides more accurate measurements in real-time, ensuring reported weights reflect current conditions and minimizing human error.

Reduced Stress on Birds
Minimizes stress during weighing process by strategically placing scales between feed and water lines, encouraging natural perching behavior.

Labor Savings
Automating the weighing process saves labor, particularly beneficial for large poultry operations where efficiency is crucial.

Improved Intervention Time
Offers real-time weight data for rapid identification and addressing of growth issues, enabling proactive interventions for optimal poultry health and performance.

Easy Integration
Compatible with Intelia’s Farm Management Solution, our automatic scales enable seamless data transfer and analysis, empowering better overall flock management.
A Tried and Tested Product

Of my three buildings, the one with Intelia bird scales is the most accurate in terms of predictions. In two years it has never been wrong. For the other buildings, I have to rely on my calculations, even if that means taking the net to weigh a few chickens, which puts unnecessary stress on the animals.”

FAQ
How do you know how many birds are on the scale?
Intelia’s bird scale does not weigh birds. We measure weight variations as birds hop on and off the plate. This way of measuring ensures we can get accurate weight measurements without relying on a standard curve like most competitive bird scales do.
Won’t the litter and feces accumulation on the plate skew my weight measurements?
No, since we only measure the weight variation, the gradual accumulation of dirt on the plate is so minimal compared to the variations recorded from bird activity that the scale rejects these measurements automatically. The same goes if a person puts a heavy tool on the plate. This out-of-norm weight measurement would be dismissed from the average.
How accurate are the scales?
The average weight reported, the standard deviation and the uniformity data are all accurate within +/-2.4% until birds reach 6.5 lbs. Passed that mark, accuracy decreases due to birds’ growing inactivity, impacting the number of valid measurements made daily (decreasing sampling).
How many scales should I install in my house?
One scale covers 200 feet of floor.
Why are your bird scales so accurate?
We have developed an algorithm that extrapolates a small sample to the whole population using an AI algorithm.
